ACTION TRAVEL a Retail Office in Richmond, BC, Canada was founded over 20 years ago and was purchased from the original owners by Avril Betts and Khaled Azzam in July of 2009.
Partners Avril Betts originally from England and Khaled Azzam originally from Cairo, Egypt, both now residing in British Columbia, Canada, started A-Z Tours International on online Travel Agency in partnership in 1998 and went online in March of 1999. A-Z Tours is an online agency offering personalized, one on one customized tours and travel services worldwide.
In recent years they have added two retail agencies, both in Richmond, B.C., Canada. Euro World Travel specializing in custom Luxury Tours and Action Travel specializing in Cruises, Groups, Corporate and Custom Individual Tours.

Avril Betts - Owner/Partner has been in the Travel Industry for many years, having worked 7 years as Vice President for another Tour Operator before opening A-Z Tours with Khaled in 1998. Avril owns a Vacation Rental Property in Nova Scotia, and holds an internationally recognized CHA (Certified Hotel Administrator) accreditation. She worked on the G7 conference in 1996, hosting the President's wives luncheon, co-chaired an Atlantic Canada Showcase an International Travel Trade Show, managed 450 volunteers for the Tall Ships Visit in July 2000, and was previously awarded Entrepreneur of the Year Award by the Tourism Industry Association of Nova Scotia. Avril founded the Country Inn Association in Nova Scotia in 1988 and has been a volunteer on numerous Tourism Committees on both a Local and National basis. Khaled Azzam - Owner/Partner is a Civil Engineer an Egyptologist, an Archaeologist, and is a licensed guide when in Egypt. Khaled brings his expertise to the 3 agencies, specializing in customized, personalized tours to Egypt . Khaled has worked on protecting monuments in Egypt and has designed many of the Company websites. Khaled is currently working on a complex of 12 Vacation Rental Villas in Cairo for use as short and long term stays for our clients. Khaled owns the 3 agencies jointly in partnership with Avril - A-Z Tours International, Euro World Travel and Action Travel. In addition Khaled also owns Travelocity Egypt in Cairo, Egypt. Joy - originally from England, has been with ACTION TRAVEL since 1989, and as our Office Manager, she is the 'go to' person for information on destinations all over the world. Currently, Joy has an impressive list of corporate clients as well as helping clients looking for leisure trips by land & sea. Jeanette - originally from Scotland, has been with ACTION TRAVEL since 2003, after running her own travel agency for over 30 years. Gisela Neufeld - Gisela is originally from Paraguay, South America, she speaks fluent Spanish, German and English. She has a long experienced background as a Travel Agent having been in the industry since 1984, Gisela has travelled extensively herself and loves to send clients on vacation to her native South America. She joined Action Travel in 2010 and is our in house specialist for Central and South America, and Cruises to all destinations.

Nabila Jaffar - Nabila was originally born in Nairobi, Kenya and has lived most of her life in the States until meeting her husband and moving to beautiful British Columbia. She joined Action Travel in 2010 as an Administrative Assistant and is fluent in Swahili, Gujrati and English. Nabila enjoys working on the monthly newsletter and is the in house accountant in addition to assisting clients with their travel inquiries.
